When have a spare room that we use as a playroom. It's connected to their current room by a Jack and Jill bathroom. I figure one day, when we no longer need a playroom, one of them will move into that room. Maybe not. I'll let them decide.
For now, it makes me smile when I walk past their room after they are supposed to be asleep and I hear their little sisterly whispers. I tell them to hush and go to sleep, with no conviction in my voice at all.
Afterthought: It often occurs to me that Gloppy is the only one in our house who has his own room and sleeps alone. Maybe that's why I am never quick to take him back to his room when he makes his way to my bed in the middle of the night.

That pic is simply adorable! I slept w/my sister for many years and there are two years between us. Somewhere around middle school/high school we went to separate rooms. I think it's fabulous that they have such a great connection.
Absolutely adorable!
ok.. how is it that I've managed to lived into my upper 30's, and now suddenly I wish I had a sister???
waaaaaaah!!!!
So cute! My 2 year old boy/girl twins were put in separate cribs fairly early - but they definitely notice if they are alone in the room. They almost always wake up together. So I get stereo cries as a wake up call.
Thank god my three year old (first born) has decided to start sleeping in. As a fluke - they were ALL up at 6 a.m. this morning. I'm looking forward to complaining about them being lazy teenagers who sleep until noon...
My girls slept in their bedroom for the first time last night, my youngest has been in a co-sleeper. I can't wait to hear them chattering!
BTW! Love your new design, it's fabulous. And for the record, I subscribe to you in google reader, why does your count read 0 all the time?
My oldest has been asking to share a room with the youngest, but their sleep schedules are SO different, that I haven't even considered it. Maybe in a year or two...
Oh that's so sweet! I've always wanted twins...
that photo is so darn cute.....welcome to SV moms blog !!
I love the photo!
There are two years between each of my children and they have always had their own rooms (once they moved out of ours). I never thought of putting them together, probably because my sister and I had to share and we had a draw-a-line-down-the-middle-of-the-room type relationship.
Then about six months ago the elder two had the idea of sleepovers in each others room. Every few weeks at the weekend they will each get a torch and put all their bedding on the floor in one of their rooms. They call it "camping". It's great to see them do it out of choice!
Oh, I know exactly what you mean. The Pumpkins shared a cosleeper until they were past seven months. When we moved them to cribs we had to separate them--one is an active sleeper who sleeps like a rock, the other stays in one place but wakes at the slightest bump. I can't wait until it's time for "real" beds to see what they do. But they definitely notice when they are in the room without the other.
What I love at our house, though, is that my older two have started asking to sleep in the same room. They argue all day, but at night, they can't sleep without the other one. I love it.
Your girls are just too sweet.
They are delicious! My 'twins' share a room. I love it when they play in the morning. I really love it when they do it quietly.
They are so cute! My twin boys are 7 and they still sleep together most nights. Eventually they're going to need a king size bed though, they have a double now and they sprawl all over it!
