Gloppy and his dad were sliding down a monster size slide together this morning and Gloppy's foot got caught underneath Mr. Mint and bent backwards. After lots of tears and a quick x-ray at the ER, we discovered it's not broken. Phew!
He does have a really bad and apparently painful sprain. Normally they would give the patient crutches, but they don't make crutches for three year olds. So the doctor sent us on our way with orders for me to act as his crutches. Gloppy needs to stay of his leg for 48 hours. Which means I spent the entire day carrying him around. Every time he attempts to stand up or walk he literally crumples to the floor and starts crying.
Today I enjoyed sitting with him on the couch and having him hug me tight. By the end of tomorrow I may be singing a different tune after carrying him up and down the stairs a million times.

Poor thing! But good opportunity for you to see the grass is no greener than last time you were there!
oh poor baby and mommy!
Poor Gloppy! And since J just recently broke her arm, I know what the experience was like for you too. Hopefully, you've recovered from the stress and adrenaline rush. Here's hoping for a fast recovery, and your strong arms until then. :-)
MiniMe goes through phases that he wants to be carried. Sometimes upstairs. And I just think about the fact that I am carrying a 40 pound weight and what that must be doing to firm up my behind.
Hope Gloppy is doing better soon, though. But not until you've had your fill of the snuggling.
poor Gloppy. Poor you! Hope he got his fill of chocolate chip cookies!
Oh no! That picture is priceless, poor thing.
:(
Poor guy--but it is a little bit sweet for both of you when it's not terribly serious and he can enjoy the attention and you the extra snuggle time.
Until your arms fall off. :)
Poor little guy. Thankfully it's not broken. Hope he feels better soon.
I'm so glad it's not broken. Hope your arms hold up and all is well in a few days.
Oh, man, I'm really sorry...for you both. The photo is dang adorable, though... :^)
Poor him and poor you! He looks so tiny in that big ER bed! I hope he gets better soon...before your arms give out.
I'm just wondering how long he's going to milk his injury... I bet he won't want to give up his Mommy attention quickly! :-)
everytime i see a picture of gloppy i fall more and more in love with him!! his little face and sprained hoof in this picture was sooo endearing
