We got there shortly after the zoo opened, and left about 20 minutes after closing time. We saw all there was to see, rode all the mini-rides, and ate lots of snacks. We rocked the Oakland Zoo.
By the time we pulled into our driveway, we were all spent. It was one of those days where all I wanted to do when we got home was throw our dusty clothes in the washing machine, throw the kids in the bathtub, put some healthy food on the table and go to bed.
So the kids had a simple dinner of pasta, edamame and sliced strawberries. I scrubbed them down in the bath and they crawled into their beds and fell asleep within minutes. The dishes are done, the washing machine is humming and my wine glass is full. Day three of Mama Ginger Tree's adventure camp was a success. Here are some of the highlights.
A rousing game of duck, duck goose.
